How to register an A record for a domain

An A record (Address Record) is a DNS record that specifies the IP address of the server the browser should contact when visiting your domain. Without a properly configured A record, your domain will not be able to direct visitors to the correct website.

Step 1: Go to the DNS control panel

  • Log in to your account: my.unihost.kz
  • Go to Products/Services → DNS Hosting
  • Click on the active service
  • At the top of the page, click the Go

Step 2: Add a domain (if you don't have one yet)

the Domain Names section and click Create . Enter your domain name (e.g., example.kz ) and save.

Step 3: Add or Modify an A-Record

  • Select the desired domain from the list
  • Click on Recordings
  • Find a record with a name like example.kz and type A - if it exists, edit it
  • If there is no such entry, click Create.
  • In the Name , enter example.kz. (or @ - they are equivalent)
  • Type: A
  • Value: Server IP address
  • Click OK to save.

Changes take effect immediately, but full DNS propagation may take anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours depending on your provider and TTL records.
