How to renew a domain without losing it

Domain renewal is a mandatory procedure to ensure its continued functionality. If you forget to pay for your domain on time, your website and email will stop working, and the domain may be lost. This guide will tell you everything you need to know to stay on top of the deadline and keep your domain name.

When can I renew a domain manually?

• Renewal is available no earlier than 60 days before the end of registration.
• The maximum period after expiration is 30 days (grace period)
• After this the domain can be:
  • deleted
  • moved to the Redemption Period
  • or registered by another user

We recommend renewing domains 30–60 days before expiration.

• Log in to your account: https://my.unihost.kz
• Go to the Products/Services → Domains
• Find the domain you need and click "Renew"
• Select the renewal period and click "Add to cart"
• Place your order and pay using a convenient method

How does automatic domain renewal work?

If auto-renewal is enabled, the system will attempt to renew the domain automatically:

• First attempt - 30 days before the end of the term
• If unsuccessful, attempts are repeated daily.
• The last attempt is on the day of graduation

Automatic renewal will not occur if:

• The domain has been marked for deletion.
• The service is not active
• The domain is already being renewed or transferred.
• An order for renewal has already been created in the cart

How to enable automatic renewal

• Go to Products/Services → Domains
• Find the desired domain and click "Edit"
• On the page that opens, enable Automatic Renewal
• Personal Account as the payment method.

For auto-renewal to work, there must be sufficient funds in your account at least 30 days before the domain expires.

What happens if you don't renew your domain on time?

Once you delete your domain, you lose it—anyone can register it.
